The Guide Dogs charity has appealed for more volunteers to help raise puppies in Jersey.
Puppy raisers receive training and are supported by a puppy development advisor - with the charity paying for all essential costs, including food and vet bills.
Leanne Kelly, puppy development advisor for areas including Jersey, said: "Being a puppy raiser is an exciting and rewarding opportunity".
The sight loss charity relies on volunteers to look after its puppies for 12-16 months, providing a "vital foundation for the puppy's future role as a guide dog".
Chrissie, a four-month-old golden retriever cross Labrador, arrived in Jersey in September, aged 10 weeks, and is living with puppy raisers Yvonne and Richard Pascoe.
Mrs Pascoe said: "We both love being puppy raisers. It's hard work but you know you're doing something very worthwhile - helping to bring independence, freedom and confidence to someone with sight loss."
Volunteers must be aged over 18 with suitable housing to provide a loving home, the charity note that "caring for a puppy is a full-time commitment, so you'll need plenty of time to invest in raising the puppy".
"Some training is delivered online too, so you'll also need a computer or other device to access this," it said.
The charity is holding an event on 19 November, 09:30-11:30 GMT at St Clement's Parish Hall and urges anyone interested in becoming a puppy raiser to attend to find out more.
