Two women have been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence after members of the public were subjected to racial abuse during a Sky News interview in Nuneaton.
A reporter was speaking to a businessman named as Zahin about tensions in the community over the asylum system following anti-immigration protests, when the interview was disrupted.
Footage on social media shows two women approaching him and shouting about rape, with one member of the public "reportedly being pushed," police said.
Women aged 30 and 43 from Nuneaton were arrested on suspicion of public order offences. The older woman is also suspected of racially aggravated common assault.
"Earlier today we arrested two women from Nuneaton as part of an investigation into an interaction between several members of the public that has been widely shared on social media and in the news," a police spokesperson said.
"The footage saw members of the public subjected to racial abuse, with one reportedly being pushed".
Inquiries into the incident were ongoing, officers added.
