Road closures for three-day classic racing event

A series of temporary road closures is set to be rolled out as the three-day Manx Classic Road Races take place.
The event sees vintage and classic cars take part in hill-climb events in three areas across the island.
The 2024 races have attracted a field of 82 entries, with more than 60 travelling to the island from the UK to take part.
Sections of the Sloc Road in the south, Creg Willley’s Hill in the west and Lhergy Frissell on the northern side of the A18 Mountain Road will be shut off on consecutive days until Saturday.
Free to watch
Run by the Manx Motor Racing Club, the races have been held for more than two decades.
The first closure will be on the A36 Sloc Road, from its junction with Scard Farm to the Dalby Lhagg Road, between 09:00 and 17:30 BST on Thursday.
That is set to be followed by the closure of the A3 Castletown to Ramsey Road, from its junction with the Poortown Road, through Glen Helen, to Cronk-y-Voddy Crossroads, between 09:00 and 17:00 on Friday.
The final day’s racing will mean the closure of the A18, from Barrule Park in Ramsey to the Tholt-y-Will junction at the Bungalow, on Saturday between 09:00 and 18:00.
The events are free to watch, however organisers have reminded spectators that they will have to be in place before the roads are closed and stay there until they are officially reopened on each day.
