A new collectible 'passport' has been launched for walkers on the Somerset to Exmoor Coast Path.

The free pocket-size booklet includes maps, route details, and things to see and do when walking the path between Brean and Porlock Weir.

Walkers can collect stamps for their passports at 45 different locations along the route.

Giles Adams, from Visit Somerset, describes the initiative as an "exciting and novel" way of enjoying the coast.

"They're little books you can pick up from a number of collection points along the route," Mr Adams said.

"Inside, there are lots of bits of information and maps, but what makes it really exciting is that you can collect stamps along the way."

There are four different parts of the route from Brean through to Porlock Weir.

Mr Adams added: "From Brean to Bridgwater is about 22 miles, Bridgwater to Kilve is 23 miles (35km), Kilve to Minehead is 16 miles and then Minehead onto Porlock Weir is 8.4 miles.

"So, the passport can really help you plan your route there in those four particular areas."
