Crane fire causes delays on part of A38

Motorists are experiencing significant delays after the partial closure of the A38 in Plymouth due to a crane fire.
National Highways South West said the recovery of the crane was "well under way" and crews were working to clean up a "substantial spillage from the fire".
The west-bound carriageway was closed shortly before 08:00 BST between Plympton and Efford, with the fire extinguished by about 09:30, it said.
All east-bound lanes have since reopened after two were closed earlier due to smoke.
National Highways said there were long delays on the approach to the closure at Plympton.
"If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time," it said.
"Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey."
Plymouth Highways said motorists were advised to leave the A38 at Deep Lane, turn right onto the B3146 and head to Marsh Mills junction before rejoining the A38.
