Arrest after man ignored city dispersal order

A man has been arrested after threatening to punch a police officer and refusing to comply with a dispersal order.
Police say officers went to Sainsbury’s Local, in Carlton Street, Nottingham city centre, on Monday following reports the individual was acting aggressively towards staff and customers.
He was persuaded to leave, but returned hours later, and was handed the order excluding him from the area for up to 48 hours.
Nottinghamshire Police said the 51-year-old threw the order to the ground, threatened to punch an officer and used threatening behaviour.
A community resolution, which does not involve going to court, has been issued after he admitted the offences and apologised.
The force says it hopes the action reassures the public that it will not hesitate to enforce powers afforded to it to keep communities safe.
