A council has agreed to pay £3,325 in compensation to a family after a child missed out on just over two terms of education.
The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) said it will remind its staff about the importance of arranging education for pupils who are out of school because of exclusion, illness or other reasons.
The Local Government Ombudsman (LGO) found the child, who suffers from anxiety, missed out on a total of two terms and a week of education between February 2024 and March.
A RBWM spokesperson said: "We fully accept LGO's decision and we have apologised to the family."
They added: "We will take forward the learnings as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring high-quality care and support for those that need additional help to access education."
