Two 16-year-old boys have been arrested following an armed robbery at an e-bike store in Nottingham.
Police said a group of masked males targeted Rutland Cycling, in New Basford, on 11 June.
Staff were threatened with shears, a Stanley knife and a cycle helmet after the thieves removed four bikes - worth a total of £22,200 - from a display at the Nottingham Road store, said officers.
Nottinghamshire Police added the teenagers were arrested on suspicion of robbery on Thursday and bailed with conditions pending further investigation work.
Information from public
The offenders used a pair of shears to remove the bikes, which were cable-tied to a display, and threatened staff when they were challenged, officers said.
The force later issued images of two suspects, and members of the public came forward with the names of the two boys, who were arrested in the Broxtowe estate area.
Detectives had previously arrested two other suspects – a 29-year-old man and a 13-year-old boy – on suspicion of robbery in connection with the investigation.
They remain on conditional bail while the investigation continues.
Det Sgt Robert Palethorpe: “We had a really good response to the police appeal and I’d like to thank the public for their help.
“Several people called us to put forward names of those they believe could be responsible and several new lines of inquiry emerged from the information we received."
