House closed off after concerns of violence

Failure to comply with the order is a criminal offence which could result in imprisonment for up to three months, a fine, or both

A house has been closed to everyone including the legal tenant after concerns about violence and anti-social behaviour.

Neighbourhood officers closed the housing association property on St Michael's Avenue in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, on Friday.

The order is in place until 28 May closing it to everyone except emergency services, Fenland District Council, Clarion Housing, and their agents.

PC Nicola Coaker said: "Over the past couple of months, we have received numerous calls from the community reporting incidents at the address involving the tenant and visiting individuals, such as violence and drunken behaviour."

Anyone who breaches the order could face imprisonment for up to three months and a fine, or both.

PC Coaker continued: "Throughout the duration of the order, we will conduct regular checks and arrest anyone found to be in breach of the order."

Since the successful application for the order at Cambridge Magistrates' Court, two people have been charged with breaching it.
