Second warmest Guernsey summer on record

Summer 2025 was in the top five hottest on record for the Channel Islands, Jersey Met has said.

Guernsey saw its second hottest summer, taking the spot from 2023, with Jersey's coming in fourth of all time.

The average temperature in Guernsey across the season was 17.8C (64F), while in Jersey it was 19.2C (67F).

The hottest day was 30 June, with highs of 33.4C (92F) in Jersey and 30.4C (87F) in Guernsey. Records started in 1894 for Jersey and 1843 for Guernsey.

The islands' hottest summer was three years ago in 2022, with average temperatures hitting 18C (64F) in Guernsey.

In contrast the UK's summer broke records, according to the Met Office.

In Jersey, June became the hottest ever with temperatures peaking at 33.4C, breaking the record set three years earlier on 17 June 2022.
