Man suffers life-threatening injuries in crash

The collision happened at the junction of St Mary's Gate and London Road

A man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Sheffield.

The 31-year-old pedestrian was struck by a yellow Hyundai Kona on St Mary’s Gate, near to the junction with London Road, at about 20:15 BST on Sunday.

South Yorkshire Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Officers investigating the incident have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage of the collision to come forward.
