The brownfield site of a former steelworks in Lanarkshire is to be turned into a new housing development.
A total of 97 energy-efficient homes for families will be built on the currently unused Clydesdale Steelworks land in Bellshill by Miller Homes Scotland West.
Initial site preparation will commence this month, with construction on the 88.5-acre (33 hectares) development - called Hawthorn Green - scheduled to begin next year. The first home completions are expected in early 2027.
The project forms part of a regeneration initiative aiming to deliver more than 430 family homes in total to the area.
Andrew McArthur, regional operations director at Miller Homes Scotland West, said the project had been several years in the making.
He added: "We are pleased to be moving forward with the transformation of this brownfield site into our new Hawthorn Green community.
"This development represents a significant step in meeting the increasing need for high-quality homes in North Lanarkshire and reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering thoughtfully designed communities that contribute to the region's long-term growth."
The development marks the company's third project in North Lanarkshire in recent years, and its second in Bellshill, following on from Green Park Gardens.
The factory closed in 1991.
