Woman suffers serious injuries in roadside crash

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a woman was seriously injured in a crash in North Yorkshire.
The incident took place on Filey Road in Scarborough between 23:00 and 23:30 BST on Saturday, North Yorkshire Police said.
The woman, who was a passenger in a BMW, suffered "serious injuries" after she got out of the the car when it stopped at the side of the road.
She was taken to hospital for treatment, a force spokesperson added.
The driver of a red Mitsubishi pick-up was arrested at the scene and the BMW driver later interviewed under caution.
Both vehicles were travelling in the same direction at the time of the crash.
