Man killed in two-vehicle crash on A75

A man has been killed in a two-car crash on the A75 on the outskirts of Dumfries.

The accident happened near the Dalscone roundabout at about 11:30 on Sunday.

A 29-year-old man driving a white Ford Fiesta was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 67-year-old woman who was at the wheel of the other vehicle involved - a blue Vauxhall Corsa - was unhurt. Police have appealed for witnesses.

Sgt David Kerr said: "Our inquiries are continuing to understand the full circumstances of what happened.

"I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who may have dashcam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible."

The road was shut for several hours after the crash and reopened at about 03:00 on Monday.
