A man who was stabbed to death in east London has been named as Josh McKay.

Emergency services were called at about 15:00 BST on Saturday to reports of a stabbing in Lea Bridge Road, Leyton.

London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance attended but the 33-year-old died at the scene.

In a statement, Mr McKay's family said: “The heart of our family has stopped beating.

"The world is less bright without his beautiful smile.”

Det Ch Insp Linda Bradley from the specialist crime command said: “Our investigation is making progress and we have now made an arrest."

Police arrested a 38-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender on Sunday. She remains in custody.

“However, we still need your help. Two children have been left without a father. If you saw anything, or have information regarding the person who killed Josh, please do the right thing and call us," Det Ch Insp Bradley added.
