A DJ is launching a daytime club event in Wolverhampton after getting a "phenomenal" demand from followers.

The city centre event, planned for next month, sold out 12 hours after spaces were released, with 700 people grabbing a ticket.

Three rooms of music will feature at The Grain Store along with blacked-out windows to create a "full club experience" for the over-30s, DJ Stuart Ojelay said.

"You can go and have a good time, leave all your worries behind and be home at a sensible hour," he added.

The event on 2 March, between 14:00 and 20:00 GMT, includes a smart dress code so party-goers treat the club as something special to look forward to, the 45-year-old said.

To help people live in the moment, the dance floor will be a no-go area for phones.

"We're going to bring an overall positive vibe to the centre of Wolverhampton," he added.

Stuart founded Word of Mouth Events in 2007 and has performed in every continent in the world, external as well as hosting events across the West Midlands.

The new Wolverhampton event comes after actor Vicky McClure launched a daytime club in Sheffield last month with future dates confirmed in London, Nottingham and south Wales.
