Drivers have faced delays on a stretch of the M25 after a "serious" vehicle fire.

The clockwise carriageway was closed between junctions 27 and 28, for Brentwood, after the incident, at about 13:30 BST.

An air ambulance landed and drivers were warned of long tailbacks and hour-long delays. One lane remains closed.

National Highways said it expected the road to fully reopen by 15:45 BST.
