About 200 young people have arrived in Plymouth to take part in a global sailing competition.
The 57th Cadet World Championships are being hosted at the Mount Batten Watersports and Activities Centre in the south of the city.
The event will see teams of young people aged from seven to 17, competing over a full week of sailing to be crowned world champions, organisers said.
Great Britain has put forward 14 teams for the 2024 event.
Global participation
A cadet is a 3.2m (10.5ft) sailing dinghy designed to be sailed by two children up to the age of 17.
Participants for the competition have come from around the world, with teams representing Australia and Argentina, along with European teams from Germany, Belgium, Poland, The Netherlands, Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
India was also participating in the event, submitting three teams for the first time in 25 years, organisers said.
The world championships, which begin later, were preceded last week by the UK National Championships.
The event is due to conclude on 9 August, with a closing ceremony, prize-giving, barbecue and disco.
