Fire crews have tackled a blaze at a fish and chip shop in Sowerby Bridge.

Named locally as Sowerby Fisheries, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed it was called to a building fire on Bolton Brow at 13:20 BST on Thursday.

Four crews from Halifax, Illingworth, Mytholmroyd and Huddersfield attended, with hose reels and breathing apparatus used to extinguish the fire.

No injuries were reported, the fire service said - although a cat was rescued from the property.
