The founder of a group that for the past four years has aimed to bring people together has said it has "changed my life for the better".

Kira Moisan, who started the Safety in New Friends group in Jersey, said she had lots of positive feedback from attendees which had inspired her to keep it going.

The group hosts a number of events from walks, talks and bowling and is open to everyone.

Ms Moisan said: "It can be difficult to meet new people by yourself, but if there's somebody already doing that [such as a group], it can take away a lot of the anxiety."

She said: "The events have had such positive feedback and every event I've organised for four years now, I have new people each time.

"I hope I have changed people's lives, I know it's changed my life for the better.

"It's so nice to get friendship from people who love me for who I am and I hope I can give that to other people," she added.
