Ambulance crashes while travelling to emergency

An ambulance travelling to an emergency incident has crashed with a car in Aberdeen on Sunday evening.

There were no serious injuries in the crash, which happened about 19:35 on Ellon Road in Bridge of Don.

The ambulance was not transporting patients at the time. An alternative ambulance was sent to the original call.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "The crew members were unharmed and, as a precaution, the driver of the car was taken to hospital."

A Police Scotland spokesperson added: "There were no serious injuries reported and the road was cleared around 21:15."
