Man stabbed in street attack

A man was stabbed in an attack by a group of men in Leeds, police have said.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, was assaulted on Dewsbury Road, near the junction with Tunstall Road, at about 12:45 GMT on Friday.

Police said he was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his head and leg but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

The road was closed for a short time afterwards and police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact Leeds District CID."
