Guernsey's electricity company is holding an event to give islanders information on how to save money on energy bills during the winter.

Guernsey Electricity said the event would take place from 10:00 until 14:00 BST at the St Pierre Park Hotel.

Staff from the company and a number of charities and businesses will be there to offer tips and advice, the utility said.

Steven Parks, from Guernsey Electricity, said the cost of living was still hitting household budgets.

"Many people are unaware of how much energy their electrical appliances consume, so making small changes to how and when they use these devices can lead to significant savings," he said.

"By adopting a few simple adjustments, the average customer could save up to £89 a year on their energy bill.

"We will be sharing advice and tips with customers at this event, together with hosting fun activities and a range of games for all the family."
