A £15m activity centre complete with a space-themed escape room has opened at a holiday park in Bognor Regis.

Butlin’s PLAYXPERIENCE was launched by Celebrity Race Across The World stars Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy on Monday.

The new attraction includes laser tag, four escape rooms aimed at different age groups, three golf games and virtual reality challenges.

Butlin’s CEO Jon Hendry Pickup said: “This is something that’s been five years in the making and took us 18 months to build.”

Jeff Brazier said: “It's great to see something new that will be of real interest to teenagers and mates on a Big Weekender."

The new centre was created after feedback from guests who enjoyed the night-time entertainment but wanted more activities during the day, said a Butlin's spokesperson.

Mr Hendry Pickup said “in terms of entertainment we’re able to provide guests with everything they’re looking for".

Butlin's, which opened in Bognor Regis in 1960, is one of the seaside town's biggest employers.

The new centre has created 30 new jobs and people can visit on a day pass as well as on residential holidays, said the Butlin's spokesperson.
