Man and dog rescued from bungalow fire

A man has been taken to hospital after a fire in the early hours of the morning.
Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service, as well as police and paramedics, was called at 00:09 GMT to the blaze in a semi-detached bungalow in Beaufort Court, Haverhill.
A fire was found in the kitchen and the alarm was raised by a neighbour who saw smoke and flames coming from the property, according to the fire service.
The male occupant of the home and his pet dog were rescued. The man was taken to hospital suffering burns and smoke inhalation.
Two crews from Haverhill as well as crews from Linton and Cambridge attended the scene.
A spokesperson said the incident was over by 02:08 and an investigation into the cause of the fire was due to take place.
