A teenager is running a mile every hour for a whole day as part of a fundraising challenge in Alderney.
George is heading out on Saturday and Sunday with the aim of raising £1,000 to help pay for his class to go on a school trip to Calshot Activity Centre in Hampshire later this year.
The 14-year-old, who attends St Anne's School, was set to begin his running challenge at 12:00 GMT on Saturday and was due to run a mile (1.6km) each hour over the course of the next 24.
He said it would be an "extremely difficult mental and physical challenge" but he could not wait to get going.
"I am really looking forward to the run and hope it all goes well," he said.
"I saw this challenge on a running video and thought 'I can do that', so here I am."
It is not the first mammoth challenge George has completed as he took part in a 100km (62-mile) bike ride in aid of Alderney's sailing club in July last year.
His father, James, said he thought his son was an inspiration to others.
"I am very proud of George's drive and determination and his want to help others and himself," he said.
