Man arrested after 'life-changing' crash injures six

A man has been arrested after a crash between a car and a tipper truck left one person with potentially life-changing injuries and five others injured.

The collision happened between Bristol and Bath on the A420 Tog Hill crossroads, with Freezinghill Lane and Gorse Lane, shortly after 11:00 BST on Thursday.

A passenger from a blue Volvo car remains in a "critical and life-threatening condition" in hospital, while four other occupants of the car and the driver of the red Scania tipper truck were also injured, Avon and Somerset Police said.

A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

The road has since reopened and police have asked that anyone who was travelling in the area at the time or who may have other information that could help the investigation to get in contact.
