A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire in Loughborough.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) said crews were called to Baxter Gate at about 05:50 GMT on Tuesday after receiving reports of a fire at a residential property.
Firefighters from Birstall, Castle Donington, Western, Central and Loughborough fire stations attended, and rescued three people from a flat roof, the brigade added.
Leicestershire Police said a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and causing criminal damage.
LFRS said the fire had been extinguished and crews would remain at the scene to dampen down the blaze.
Workers from gas company Cadent are also in attendance.
