Police have released an image of a man they want to speak to in connection with a reported assault at a nightclub in Doncaster earlier this year.

A man was allegedly attacked at Pop Works on Silver Street at about 04:40 BST on 17 August and had to be taken to hospital for treatment before later being discharged, according to South Yorkshire Police.

Officers said they wanted to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV image about the incident as he might be able to help with their inquiries, and asked for people's help in identifying him.

The man was believed to be white, of slim build, in his early 20s, about 5ft 6ins (1.7m) tall, with short ginger hair and "scruffy" facial hair, police said.

Anyone who could identify the man, or who had information about the incident, was asked to contact the South Yorkshire force.
