Fatal motorbike crash leaves family 'devastated'

Daniel Shipton's family said he was keen on body positivity and would be loved forever

The family of a motorcyclist whose death in a crash prompted a murder investigation have said they are "devastated" by their loss.

Daniel Shipton, 31, died after a collision between his motorbike and a blue Mini on Riding Court Road in Datchet, Berkshire, on 16 July.

In a tribute, his relatives said Mr Shipton loved his family and described him as "a frequent gym goer" interested in "body positivity".

Thames Valley Police arrested a 39-year-old man from Birmingham on suspicion of murder after following the crash. He has been released on bail until 6 October.

Mr Shipton's family said: "We are devastated at the loss of our son, brother and grandson Daniel.

"Dan was an intelligent man who loved his sport, motorbikes and his family.

"Daniel was a frequent gym goer and regularly did fitness training with friends at local gyms. Dan took a keen interest in clean eating, nutrition and body positivity and lived his life accordingly.

"Daniel will be forever loved and missed by us all. We would like to add our thanks to all emergency services for their support in this difficult time."

A Thames Valley Police spokesperson confirmed inquiries into the crash, which happened at about 16:30 BST, were ongoing.

Det Insp Alice Broad previously said: "We believe there was an earlier incident involving the drivers of both vehicles at the junction with Slough Road and London Road, so would also appeal to anyone who may have witness information or dash-cam footage of this incident to please contact the force."
