A man has been arrested following a suspected hit-and-run in Nottinghamshire.

Emergency services were called to Wesley Road, Retford, at around 21:50 BST on Saturday after reports of an incident involving a car and a pedestrian.

Police believe the vehicle left the scene and the pedestrian, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital with "significant injuries".

A 50-year-old man was arrested at his home the following day and has since been taken into custody on suspicion of wounding with intent, dangerous driving, failing to stop after a road accident, and failing to report an accident.
