Police probe suspicious fire in flat in Tain

Police are investigating a suspicious fire in a top floor flat in Easter Ross.

Emergency services were called to Tain's Mansefield Estate at about 03:00 on Sunday. No-one was injured.

Police Scotland said it was believed the fire was started deliberately and has appealed for information, external.

Det Sgt Chris Robertson said: "I would ask local residents to think back and consider whether they saw or heard anything which seemed suspicious or odd, even if you think what you know isn’t relevant, please do pass it on."
