Hills and Newton offers online advice

A woman from Faversham who was recognised for her skills at producing street food is teaming up with a local wellness expert to offer bite-sized nutrition advice online.

Katie Newton from Wasted Kitchen, which uses surplus food to make meals, and nutrition expert Virginia Hills are launching Hills and Newton to share recipes and tips.

Wasted Kitchen won the BBC Food and Farming's best street food award in December for making and selling menus using repurposed produce.

The online advice will include newsletters, challenges and healthy eating tips and will be free to use on its basic level.

Ms Newton began to re-think her use of food after seeing corporate waste in her early career in marketing before spending 18 months at sea on a yacht.

"I really then had to think about waste, where your rubbish goes to, using everything that you've got, and when I got back, I thought that this is what I wanted to do," she said.
