A health centre which helps people with chronic conditions has said it will save money on electricity after the installation of a solar panel won in a competition.

Oxygen Therapy Jersey in St Helier won a solar panel worth £10,000 after the public voted for it in the competition run by SunWorks.

The charity, which helps patients with diseases such as multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, said the panel would reduce its electricity costs by up to 70% and make the centre more sustainable.

"This will ensure that more of our resources are available to deliver care directly to our clients," centre manager Collette Bagas said.
