Search for moped riders after bike assaults
- Published
A woman has been sexually assaulted and six people have been pushed from their bikes by a group of people believed to have been travelling on a moped or motorbike.
Avon and Somerset Police are urging anyone with information to come forward after the spate of offences in Bristol last week.
The incidents took place in the south and east of the city between 3 and 5 December, with the majority reported on Feeder Road.
Police said a woman was sexually assaulted in nearby Netham Park by three unknown men riding a moped on Wednesday.
A man who was pushed from his bike on Feeder Road by a similar group the following day sustained a broken collar bone in the incident.
Bristol East Neighbourhood Policing Insp Thomas Tooth said no related incidents had been reported since 5 December, but added that police "remain vigilant" and that the incidents were all believed to be linked.
"Officers from our Neighbourhood Policing Team and local patrol teams are focussing their patrols in Feeder Road and surrounding areas to provide reassurance to the public and work is ongoing to gather intelligence and information to help identify the offenders," he said.
"Officers will continue to work alongside colleagues from the local authority as part of the investigation to gather and review CCTV. We will also be ensuring that the appropriate support is in place for all victims."
He urged anyone who had been involved in a similar incident to contact police "immediately" so police had a "full picture of offending" and could "maximise all investigative opportunities".
Anyone with dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage is asked to contact police, or if an incident has just happened to call 999.
