A 14-year-old boy is among three people who have been arrested after a man was struck by a car and left with life-changing injuries, police have said.

It happened on Leyland Lane, at the junction with Atlas Court, in Leyland at about 19:20 BST on Saturday, Lancashire Police said.

The man, described by police as being in his 20s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a white Mercedes C320.

The teenager, a 31-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man are being questioned on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Sgt Ben Elliott said: "Whilst three people have been arrested, we are continuing to appeal for any information or footage that could assist our enquiries.

"We're particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam or have witnessed the Mercedes driving in the Leyland area prior to or after the collision."
