Essential engineering works are set to close parts of the railway between Hereford, Newport, and Shrewsbury for two weekends.
Network Rail Wales and Borders said they would be undertaking the work to "keep the railway running safely and efficiently".
The closures will take place in September over the weekends of the 6 and 7 and the 13 and 14.
Replacement bus services will run between Newport and Shrewsbury, serving all intermediate stations, a spokesperson said.
National Rail said the work taking place includes vegetation management, points renewal and signalling work at Panteg and Pontypool, as well as earthworks and drainage at Little Stretton.
Track and drainage upgrades will also take place at St Julian's (Newport) and Tram Inn, as well as drainage and level crossing maintenance between Cwmbran and Maindee.
National Rail said the lines affected are Newport, via Hereford, to Shrewsbury; Maindee to Cwmbran; Pontypool and Panteg; and Sutton Bridge Junction in Shrewsbury to Bromfield, Craven Arms and Church Stretton.
