Coastal areas warned to expect gusts and gales

Severe weather warnings for high winds and heavy rain have been issued for coastal areas in north-western England.
An amber warning - the second highest level of alert - will be in force on Saturday from 03:00 GMT until 21:00, the Met Office said., external
People living in coastal areas of Lancashire and Merseyside have been warned by forecasters to expect gusts of up to 70mph (about 110 km/h).
In the meantime, before the arrival of Storm Darragh this weekend, yellow warnings for wind and rain have been declared for much of England.
'Amber warnings'
The Met Office warned there was a significant chance of power cuts, which may also affect mobile phone coverage.
It also said some buildings could be damaged, for example roofs losing tiles, and warned of flying debris.
Those planning to use public transport during an amber alert can expect possible delays and cancellations, while motorists face longer journey times in the difficult driving conditions.
Some roads and bridges are likely to close, with falling trees an additional hazard.
People in coastal areas are also warned about large waves and beach material being thrown on to coastal roads, sea-fronts and properties.
