A man who was charged with murder after a body was found in a house has pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Isobella Knight, a 32-year-old mum, was found dead by police in Donnington Road, Burton Latimer, Northamptonshire, on 13 June.

Paul Knight, 36, of Donnington Road, appeared at Northampton Crown Court on Thursday and is due to appear again on 7 January next year.

A preliminary post-mortem examination indicated she died as a result of applied pressure to her neck.

On the day of the incident, officers had been led to the property during initial inquiries about a car crashing at a McDonald's restaurant at about 15:30 BST.

Det Insp Torie Harrison said: "Our thoughts and condolences are with Izzy's family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. She was a much-loved daughter, sister and mother and the devastation caused by her death is immeasurable."
