A suspected stolen car collided with parked cars on a residential street, officers said.

West Midlands Police said a vehicle failed to stop for police prior to the collision on Portland Road in Edgbaston, Birmingham, at about 03:00 GMT on Sunday.

A 29-year-old man was arrested before being taken to hospital for treatment.

He has since been discharged and is in custody on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision, the force added.

Two other patients were also taken to hospital with injuries which are not life-threatening or life-changing.

Preet Kaur Gill, the area's MP, tweeted that she was due to visit the scene.
