Murder arrest after woman stabbed in Greenwich

A man has been arrested after a woman was fatally stabbed in south-east London

A man who is in hospital with life-threatening injuries is under arrest on suspicion of murder after the death of a 29-year-old woman in south-east London.
The Metropolitan Police said officers responded to reports of a stabbing at a residential address in Trafalgar Road in Greenwich at around 22:20 BST on Wednesday.
The woman, who has not been formally identified, died at the scene. A post-mortem examination has been carried out, according to police.
The man, who is 33 and is believed to have been known to the woman, was arrested at the scene.
Det Insp Mark Franklin, who is leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts are with the victim's family, who at this unimaginably difficult time, are being supported by specialist officers.
"We know this incident will cause great concern within the community.
"While we are confident this is an isolated incident, residents will see an increased police presence in the area.
"If you are concerned please speak to one of those officers on patrol."
