More bus services are being introduced across Somerset this month following complaints from passengers.

Buses of Somerset will run earlier services and improved evening services across Taunton, Burnham-on-Sea and Wellington.

They say its revised timetables will help "improve punctuality" of its bus routes from 27 November.

James Eustace, commercial director at First South, said: “Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re making these changes after listening to their feedback."

'Improving punctuality'

"People told us they needed earlier buses to get to work and we’re also adjusting some journey times to improve punctuality and help students get to school," he added.

Changes to bus services include:

  • 1, 6 and 7 (Taunton town services) - changes to journeys in the morning peak to support people to get to work.

  • Services 623 and 625 (Bridgwater College) - Changes to the timetable to improve punctuality.

  • The Exmoor Coaster - Services will stop running for the winter from 26 November and it will return in early 2024.
