Former police officer faces harassment charge

A former Devon and Cornwall Police firearms response officer has appeared in court charged with harassment without violence.

Harry Tangye, 56, of Lusty Glaze, Newquay, appeared at Bodmin Magistrates Court on Thursday accused of harassing Sofia Cann between 25 August and 7 September 2024 in Newquay.

The retired officer was accused of pursuing a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of Sofia Cann.

Tangye was remanded on conditional bail to appear before Bodmin Magistrates court on 8 May.

The former armed response officer retired from the force in 2020.
