Serious crash closes main road in both directions

A serious crash has closed a main road in Nottinghamshire.
National Highways said a stretch of the A46 shut in both directions at about 20:20 BST on Wednesday.
The road is closed between the A617 at Newark-on-Trent and the A1 at Winthorpe.
Nottinghamshire Police officers are at the scene, National Highways said.
