Man in court on murder charge after woman found dead

A 33-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder after a woman's body was found at her home.

Leanne Williams, 47, was found dead at a house on Gomer Road, Townhill, Swansea on 27 February.

A post-mortem examination found she had suffered "significant injuries consistent with an assault".

Matthew Battenbough, of no fixed address, spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth at Swansea Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

He was remanded in custody to next appear at Swansea Crown Court.
