Police want to speak to several people who were in the area

A man has sustained serious injuries after being assaulted in a Shropshire town.

The 24 year-old was attacked by several unknown people near The Buttercross on Cheshire Street, Market Drayton, at about 03:20 BST on 27 July.

West Mercia Police said it was keen to speak to two men and a woman who were seen in the area at the time.

It added that it was thought that those involved were in the Clive and Coffyne pub before the incident.
