Ex-teacher charged with 1970s sexual offences

A 90-year-old former teacher will appear in court after being charged with sexual offences committed against a boy about 50 years ago.
Derek Barker of Limpley Stoke will appear at Bath Magistrates' Court on Thursday after being charged with three offences under the Sexual Offences Act 1956.
The charges relate to offences allegedly committed in the mid-1970s at Monkton Combe School in Bath, where he was a teacher at the time.
Avon and Somerset Police has asked those with any concerns or information to get in touch by calling 101.
