Pupils to move out as school ceilings are replaced

Students will be moved to a temporary site nearby in January

A school building will be closed for six months while essential repairs are carried out on its ceilings.
In January students at Denbigh Primary School in Luton will be moved to a temporary site on Bishopscote Road playing fields until July 2026.
Luton Council said a planned routine inspection identified the ceilings in a number of classrooms needed replacing and "should no longer be used until the work is completed".
The school has been approached for comment but has yet to respond.
In a statement, the authority said: "Essential repairs are needed at Denbigh Primary School to keep the building safe and secure for the future."
Work on Bishopscote Road is due to be completed by late December.
It will involve removing soil from the site and installing temporary buildings and other facilities to be used by the pupils.
Luton Council said it did not expect much traffic disruption once it opened.
It said: "As Bishopscote Road is only a short distance from the current school, we're optimistic that many families will walk rather than drive to this new location."
