Counter terrorism detectives have charged a 62-year-old woman with offences relating to the support of Hamas, an armed Palestinian group and political movement in the Gaza Strip.

Sarah Wilkinson, from Bishops Castle, Shropshire, was charged on Sunday with five offences under UK terrorism legislation, following her arrest in August 2024, said West Mercia Police.

Ms Wilkinson is accused of two offences of supporting a proscribed organisation, one each of encouragement and dissemination, as well as failing to comply with a S.49 RIPA notice, which relates to providing passwords for access to digital devices.

She is due to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on 20 October, the force said.
