People in Weymouth have been getting into the festive spirit with an elf parade, ahead of the town's Christmas lights switch on.

Hundreds of people in fancy dress descended on the town centre for the festivities on Saturday, which have become an annual fixture.

The parade was part of a day of elf-themed fun, including face painting, gingerbread decorating and hat-making workshops.

A live music stage hosted entertainment throughout the day before the Christmas lights switch-on at 17:00 GMT.
